What is eMedia Card Designer?

The eMedia Card Designer is a program that allows users to compose layouts and designs for different types of physical cards, from loyalty cards for shops and businesses to company cards for workers and even business cards. The program’s graphical user interface makes WYSIWYG editing possible for the user, who can choose from any of 4 versions of the software: the limited-use trial version, the standard version, the professional version, and the full-featured expert version.
Designing and printing plastic cards is possible for all versions, as is a magnetic strip encoding. Only the standard, professional and expert editions allow users to work with Excel-format databases, though. Only the professional and expert editions permit smart card encoding, database use, formula integration in barcodes and text, COM Server usage, and extension through plug-ins. Finally, only the expert edition has contactless smart card encoding.
The existing plug-ins for the application provide resources for text file exporting as well as print management. The developer of the program has also released the software development kit for the program’s plug-ins, which users with know-how in programming can use to build their own extensions of the product.
